Walmart Expands Shoe Selection with Sam & Libby Exclusives and Madden NYC Launches.

As the shop extends its footwear options, it has added two additional exclusive labels to its inventory.

Walmart has expanded its shoe selection with exclusive Sam & Libby collections. Madden NYC launches a new range of men’s shoes, including boots and sneakers.  

Sam & Libby, which Caleres own, and Madden NYC, owned by Steve Madden, will now be available only at Walmart.

The cooperation started in delayed March and is still being rolled out to retailers and Walmart.com.

Walmart would sell Sam and Libby women’s sandals for $25 to $28 & Madden NYC women’s and kids’ sandals, clogs, and platforms sneakers for $16 to $26 through the agreement.

Walmart has expanded its footwear selection online with the return of a famous lifestyle shoe line by iconic Italian designer Vera Wang.  

Other new styles include Chicago-based Aldo’s classically masculine spring roll loafers and casual yet dressy Birkenstock sandals.

The premier outdoor company Keds also has created a special edition pair for Walmart.

Women’s clothing and accessories will be included in the Madden London collection at Walmart, which will eventually grow to include men’s shoes in the fall.

Gypsy Jo Diessner, VP and regional retail director for footwear at Walmart US, stated,

“We’re delighted to confirm the comeback of these two classic labels solely at Walmart as it expands our increasing collection of the exclusive national shoe brands.”

In partnership with eyewear retailer Warby Parker, Walmart launched the second collection of kids’ glasses online this week.

The styles are now available on eBay and through respective websites at both retailers.

“Expanding our selection to meet our consumers’ needs to improve their shoe purchasing experience are two of our top focuses.”

Walmart’s ambitions to extend its footwear offerings to private label shop alliances and branded brands have taken a step forward with this latest alliance.

Time and Tru, Ozark Trail, No Boundaries, and Wonder Nation are just a few Walmart’s private brands with footwear products.

Brandon Maxwell is the creative director of the Scoops and Open Assembly fashion brands, which are owned by the firm.

Walmart sells shoes from Liberty, Kendall & Kylie, Keds, Bearpaw, Stride Rite, Maui and Sons, Reebok, Levi’s, Wolverine, and other brands been added to the retailer in the recent year.

Beyond brand preference, Walmart is putting a lot of money into the in-store shoe purchasing experience, with dedicated shop-in-shops for brands including Madden NYC and Sam & Libby.

Both brands are offered at Walmart’s 900 locations and online.

“We are pleased to offer our new line exclusively at Walmart,” stated Dottie Grubb, Sam & Libby’s VP of marketing and licencing.

“Our tale begins with two characters, Sam and Libby, reimagined as best friends, moms, daughters, sisters, and partners, who share a passion for beautiful shoes.

The objective of Sam & Libby is to “push the current quo” by offering “new, rule-breaking, fun fashion that is true to our 1987 roots.”
